Hi guys,
In January I had a Pap smear and got the following results:
Squamous and/or glandular abnormality
A. ThinPrep Pap Cervix, Screening
Specimen adequacy:
Satisfactory for evaluation; endocervical/transformation zone component is present.
Quality indicators: partially obscured by cytolysis, and partially obscured by blood and inflammation.
General categorization:
Epithelial cell abnormality – squamous cell (see interpretation).
Descriptive interpretation:
Atypical squamous cells cannot exclude high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (ASC-H) – cervix.
Fungal organisms morphologically consistent with Candida species.
HPV testing was not performed because I was under 30 at the time.

Then I had a colposcopy in March, and the results were:
A. Endocervix, curettage:
Fragments of benign endocervical mucosa.
B. Cervix, 6 o’clock biopsy:
Squamous and endocervical mucosa with high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (CIN 3), with endocervical gland involvement.

Then I had a LEEP procedure two weeks ago, and the results were:
Cervix, LEEP:
High-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL / CIN 3) involving the squamocolumnar mucosa and extending into the endocervical glands.
Dysplasia multifocally involves the endocervical margin of resection.
Ectocervical and stromal margins are negative for dysplasia.

My doctor is recommending a cold knife cone biopsy under general anesthesia.
I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar situation—what was your outcome? I’m really scared.

Thanks!!
