Hey y’all, posting for my GF because she doesn’t use reddit. We moved here as college new grads, but all the people she knew here have moved out over the past few years.

I know the common advice is to pursue clubs and activities for hobbies you enjoy… she’s tried joining different art classes, a reading club, and volunteer work, but she felt like all those events were so focused on doing the activity that there wasn’t much room for socialization.

She’s also pretty shy, so I was wondering if there are certain clubs or events where people tend to be more extroverted and outspoken to give her more confidence meeting new people.

Regarding her interests and hobbies:

  • Big art gal (does a lot of drawing and painting, but open to learning about other types as well)
  • Loves reading and webtoons
  • Foodie
  • Not good at sports, but willing to learn a beginner friendly sport

And outside of going to events, are there other good ways of making new friends (maybe like Bumble BFF or something?)

Would love to hear all your thoughts, thanks so much!
