So I finished this game today and I wanted to rant about it. It was fun, I almost pulled an all-nighter to finish it.

But there are some aspects of the story that are too wacky to take seriously. Especially towards the true ending (Or the "Omega ending if you are a TVtropes fan)

Spoliers btw

So Date is a hitman working for the Kumas, they order him to kill a woman and her child, so Date goes to Boss. She comes up with the idea of swapping bodies between Date and Rohan (the boss of the Kumas) so he can order the Kumas not to lay a finger on them...

This is the worst idea I've ever seen:

  1. The psync machine and its body swap function are a state secret. I have no idea how Boss got away with telling some random hobo about this.
  2. Ok, they body swapped and Date gave the order to the Kumas, now what? They swap back? Oh sure, the mafia leader is going to be happy that the police basically kidnapped him to body swap.

Ok, this goes as good as you might expect. Now Rohan (in Date's body) is jailed and Date goes to talk to the Cyclops Killer, the Cyclops Killer realizes that he isn't talking with Rohan. So Date gets kidnapped and spills the beans about the machine.

And the guy says: "hey, so that's how the machine that we stole works?"

Yeah, what a coincidence, the killer had access to an evil prototype machine; and guess what, this moron had the bright idea to use the machine to swap bodies.
This guy had "It was me, Barry" levels of hatred towards Date for no reason. Look, I don't expect a serial killer to be reasonable but that he wanted to kill almost everyone related to Date for something that was his own fault? This is nonsense.

I expected something more personal like Date being responsible for catching him for the Cyclops killings and swapping bodies accidentally.

Despite this, I liked the ending and I will be playing the sequel when I have time.
