New pitch
I've been dealing with tinnitus since September 2025 after loud music at a wedding triggered something. It started was a low, loud ringing in my left ear that eventually spread to my right. It faded after about two weeks when I finally got my ears to pop and had fluid drain. I habituated pretty well after a few months besides when it would spike every so often.
I went to an ENT in October 2025 who looked in my ears and did a hearing test and said there was nothing he could do for me. In March 2026, I suddenly had pretty bad pain in my left ear. I went to urgent care thinking it was an ear infection but the lady there said she didn't see anything wrong with my ear. She prescribed me ear drops anyway and they did take away the pain.
This past week, I've had a pretty bad spike and some pain again. I started sleeping on the couch as a change in scenery helps me sleep usually. Sleeping on the couch gives me a sore neck every so often, but I didn't think anything of it until I suddenly had loud, high pitched ringing that seems impossible to mask. The ringing has been 24/7 for the last 4-5 days and is giving me major anxiety and depression and even nausea and lightheadedness/vertigo.
I have another ENT appointment at a different place next week, but any advice for dealing with it between now and then? I can't get a good night's sleep to save my life and my nervous system is a wreck.
Thanks!
