For a start i have to state the following (to not get some pitchforks following me)
I am a developer so tweaking is not something new to me but of course i don't know everything about anything i can make some stupid mistakes
In this install i didn't want to search too much and have a debugging session
I used fedora and mint before both were almost flawlessly and easy to use
Now to start with the obvious i have an iso with the distro why do i need internet connection (windows Vietnam flashbacks happened here)
We persevere and i starting the installation, set partitions manually and pressed install and no a pacman mirrors link update task faild at start and i had to redo the whole installation preferences nothing was cached in cachy
Ok i used a vpn and redid the whole thing and it passed that check and nope another error about partitions (i manually set root, home, var and boot/efi),
i restarted the installation after some googling and then expanded the efi from 1gb to 1.5gb, it did not work
Then reformatting everything worked (each try i have to set it to reformat)
The final issue when it just said faild to run pacman faild to run pacstrap
A quick search suggested using the lts kernel and i did with no dice
At the end i switched back to fedora after this horrible horrible experience
I know i did something wrong somewhere i if i dig deep enough I would have fixed it but it should not take thst much, the error messages were infuriatingly not helpful
