Does anyone remember that show on TLC Extreme Beliefs? It had to have been 15-20 years ago. There was a woman named Shani/Shandi that was a vegan activist. The same show included a girl that was ostracized by her Scientology family. In Shani’s episode, she wore a bikini and protested in front of KFC with signs that said they scalded chickens alive and tried to stop people as they went in. It showed pics of her protesting at circuses and her showing her vegan fashion collection. She lived with a couple male roommates whom she made store their animal products on the bottom shelves of the fridge bc she didn’t want it to drip on her vegan food. She showed them videos of turkeys being slaughtered for thanksgiving and cried saying, “I just don’t understand how people don’t care.” I wasn’t vegan but as you can see it affected me deeply since I too felt her compassion for animals. I was young at the time and it was such a foreign yet inspiring insight into someone’s life. I tried searching for the episode online to no avail and can’t find any information about her. I would love to know how she’s doing and if she’s still vegan. Anyone else remember it?
