Question about AI tools and finding jobs. (Probably not the question you're thinking, though.)

To start, this isn't a panicked "Oh no! AI?! What do I do?! Are we doomed?!" post. I'm looking for genuine thoughts on the following phenomenon:

Like many of us, I peruse the job boards pretty regularly. I've always found it a little tough to interpret the corporate speak to determine what kind of motion designer companies are actually looking for.

In the past few months, though, I've been seeing more and more posts seeking designers to make "AI videos" with "The latest AI motion graphics tools," or "leveraging AI to make videos" and things like that.

The cynical side of me thinks, "They don't know what they're talking about. They *think* that the most up-to-date designers will be using AI, and they want to make sure they look like they're up with the hip new hiring trends. Also, it's super possible they used AI to write the job posting."

But giving these companies the benefit of the doubt, here's my question:

Have any of y'all actually applied for jobs like these? Perhaps even gotten jobs from postings like these?

Do you talk about all of the "great AI tools" you use during your interview, but then go back to your usual workflow once you've secured the gig?

It seems like the general consensus among Motion Graphics people is that there aren't really any AI tools that are that great at the moment. Sure, we can use AI as part of the workflow, but it's not making things *that* much more efficient, or better-designed, or better-animated than in the pre-AI times.

I'd be genuinely curious to hear your opinions and experiences.

Cheers!

Hi all. I'm not sure if this is a beginner question or not. Even though I've been a motion designer for 10 years, sometimes I feel like a beginner.

I would like to create a design like the attached image. And ideally I would like it to be created by a bunch of dots that scale into place. So, for example, the center dot would scale up into being, then the surrounding dots would as well, and so forth, out to the edges where the dots are really small.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this *should* be done with either an ellipse+repeater(s), or Ball Action, and then somehow mitigated by a gradient ramp and, maybe a choker? But... this is really getting out of my expertise.

Can anyone envision something like this that's a rather simple setup? (I'm also open to, "Hey, why don't you just use the [xyz] preset, which does exactly what you're describing?"

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
