Ford 351m block question ??

When smoothing out the oil passage in the valley.. How far should you go down on the bottom? Does the oil pool up that far to go in that hole? I have so many questions.. see the link for pic. 🤷‍♂️ #ford #351m #engine

To port match, ..or not to port match?

It looks like there is a bunch of room for improvement on this Edelbrock Performer 400 intake. The machine shop has my parts and waiting to find out if the 400 crank and rods are OK or not.. If not, 351m it is. Probably will bore .030 on the block. To me, the valley pan is showing room for improvement on the intake size to match the head. I know to keep the intake a little smaller than the head port... But, is it nessesary? Will it help? What are you guys doing? TY in advance.
