I’m dealing with what feels like really severe GERD and I don’t know what to do anymore.

Lately, when I eat anything, I get a burning/stinging feeling in my chest that lasts for hours on end. For example, I had broccoli today at noon and the pain is still there almost 9 hours later. It also makes me feel super nauseous, and a lot of the times I throw it up just so the pain goes away. This has been happening every day now for about a month. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t eat anything without triggering it. Even foods that are supposed to be “safe” cause me daily issues.

The worst part is I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night having to throw up, and with that comes this excruciating pain in my chest and throat. I do not eat after 5 pm because I try to avoid that from happening, it’s truly some of the worst & uncomfortable pain I have ever felt. I take Omeprazole daily, but it does nothing for me.

Some other things I’ve noticed:

-It feels like food just sits in my stomach and doesn’t digest properly. I’m constantly bloated and feel full

-I’ve thrown up food hours later and it still looks undigested

-Chest tightness along with the burning in my throat has gotten extreme

I don’t have insurance right now so seeing a GI doctor isn’t easy, but I’m getting worried because this doesn’t feel normal anymore.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or found something that actually helps? I’m 27 and have been dealing with GERD since i was 22. It has never been like this before.
