Got Mirena yesterday and am wondering if my symptoms are common.
I got my Mirena placed yesterday morning (for context, I got it installed on my period) after being on Jencycla for years. All went well. I had some fairly heavy cramps for the rest of the day afterward but nothing too crazy.
This morning, I felt completely back to normal. No cramps and no fatigue. I actually had a pretty good little energy burst and sprang out of bed. I decided to go back to work thinking I was ok. Once I got to the office and sat down at my desk, though, the same heavy cramping from right after the procedure yesterday was suddenly back and my energy level tanked. It got to the point where I was actually considering going back home right after I got to work. I decided to stick it out, though.
The cramps have been waxing and waning throughout the day, ranging from barely there at all to intense enough to make it hard to focus. What’s even stranger for me is that my energy has been all over the place, as well. One minute, I’m on top of the world and super productive. The next, I feel like I need to take a nap at my desk. I had some mild energy level fluctuations on the pill, but they were usually very gradual and there would be maybe one or two shifts in a day. These cramps and sudden energy tanks are pretty sudden and have been happening all day.
Are these kinds of fluctuations normal for the day after insertion? Has anyone else experienced this? I know I probably pushed myself too hard coming back to work today, which is surely part of it. And I’m wondering if this is just my body adjusting to this new thing hanging out in my uterus. I guess I’m just looking for a little reassurance here. All advice/experiences are appreciated :)
