Presenting the launch of my Mod: Necrotic Fever!
Necrotic Fever adds a progressive gangrenous disease to RimWorld's tropical and swamp biomes.
- Infection begins on a specific finger or toe and spreads inward over 14 in-game days
- Five distinct stages — from fever and chills to full organ failure
- Anatomically ordered spread — same-side digits consumed first, then hands, arms, and torso
- Treatment scales with medicine quality — glitterworld medicine can cure in 6 days, herbal barely slows it
- Penoxycyline prevents infection entirely if taken before exposure
- Emergency surgery can amputate ahead of the spread — but the limb is always lost, and failure accelerates the disease
- Doctors risk infection every time they tend an infected pawn — cleaner rooms mean safer staff
- Nearby patients in medical beds can also contract the disease — walls block transmission
- Infected pawns generate filth that dirties rooms and raises transmission risk
- Healthy colonists suffer mood penalties from sharing a room with the infected
- Biological pawns only — mechanoids are immune
- Biome-restricted to tropical rainforests, swamps, and similar environments
