History of SVT— Apple Watch ECG said afib then sinus?
I am 7 weeks postpartum and undeniably had a really bad few weeks, between a delayed hemorrhage at 7 days pp and resulting infection at 14 days pp. Before I was discharged from the hospital and hooked up to monitoring, we were noticing that my heart rate was actually going low instead of high.
This was abnormal for me as I have a history of SVT, treated with an ablation in 2019 but still occasionally symptomatic (a few times a year). They did an EKG, found nothing other than ectopic beats and discharged me.
We have since lowered my metoprolol dose further but I am still noticing low heart rates, even when standing or active. I am also on nifedipine for blood pressure. In bed last night, I took an ECG as I felt a few palpitations and it said afib— obviously panicked, I sat up and took it again and the ECG said sinus. Is the Apple Watch to be trusted? Could it be that I don’t have SVT and have afib? Or both.
