preparing for enema
hello! unfortunately my sweetie 11 year old female cat needs to potentially get an enema this afternoon. she just started fluoxetine a little over a week ago, and i’ve read that it can cause constipation or slower gut motility. i didn’t know this when i first started the medication, so i only just began to give her pumpkin the last couple days. she hasn’t pooped in 2-3 days from what i can gather (i have two cats and it can be hard to tell which poop belongs to who).
anyway! i’m seeking advice on how to prepare my cat for an enema. i’ve read there can be some leakage after, but my girl is very anxious (hence the fluoxetine) and will likely demand being in my bed afterwards. i was planning on buying a cheap pack of towels to put on top of the bed or something, but does anyone have any advice on how to prep or things to buy to reduce mess?
