UPDATE: I invented a laundry detergent that detoxes clothes from microplastics and chemicals
Hey guys, I am here asking for your feedback once again.
This product got a ton of attention and support the first time I posted about it. So, I am super excited to say that I officially launched KindThreads as the first ever laundry detox.
Synthetic fibers make up over 70% of all clothing, organic cotton/other fiber alternatives are super expensive, and traditional cotton contains extremely high amounts of dyes, bleaches, and other chemical residues from manufacturing processes. KindThreads is able to bind to microplastics, BPA, phthalates, PFAs(forever chemicals), dyes, aldehydes, and heavy metals. Preventing them from being redeposited onto your clothes in the wash, and they are much more likely to be caught in wastewater treatment processes and not end up in our environment(laundry is the number one primary source of ocean microplastics). It also conditions fabrics to reduce friction during wear(decrease microplastic shedding) and gives our skin a protective barrier from microplastics and chemical leaching from clothes.
Changes since first post: I decided to make KindThreads a detergent with the detoxing capabilities built-in, because the last thing any of us need right now is to have to buy two laundry products separately. The detergent component is as simple-ingredient/non-toxic as it gets (compare to Molly’s Suds or Branch Basics). All of the ingredients are listed on the linked website, with detailed descriptions of their purpose and linked research. I do not want this to come off as marketing, I am actively pursuing other avenues for that. I genuinely want your guys’ feedback as this subreddit is what inspired me to move forward with this project, and it wouldn’t exist without the support I received from you.
