Vivaldi offers a fantastic feature called Workspaces, along with its essential companion: the rules that determine which Workspaces the web pages we use most often open in. At first glance, it seems perfect, but with daily use and these other 3 aspects, we begin to realize that it has its flaws:
1.- There is no reverse rule; that is, all web pages not defined in the rules open in “This Window” or, as I call it, the “Home”.
2.- When we open links from bookmarks, the reading list, a search, or from web pages, they open in the workspace we’re currently in.
3.- The vastness of the web makes it impossible to anticipate how to act using rules.
So here's what starts to happen:
1.- “This window” fills up with tabs that could belong in a workspace based on their topic, but there's no set rule.
2.- The workspaces also fill up with tabs that have nothing to do with the concept defining them, which could be in another workspace or simply in “This window.”
In other words, the system gets “cluttered,” distracting the user.
So the purpose of this Mod is to keep the system clean, fit and organized.
Each workspace should be as full as possible with its corresponding tabs, while “This window” should be as empty as possible, containing only those poor, helpless, stray tabs that don't belong to any workspace.
