So I’ve bought a refurbished 13 Pro Max 5 months ago and noticed right away that the screen isn’t glued completely on the top. It was around Christmas and decided to wait and send it later for warranty. Since then I dropped the phone very lightly and the screen broke. So the warranty was voided and I decided to just go to a repair shop and replace the screen. They said they would fit a premium OLED not the original. After getting the phone back I notice a white horizontal line every time I apply slight pressure to the screen. I never had that issue prior to replacing the screen. Even with the broken screen everything worked. They said when I got the phone fixed that the frame is slightly bent and that’s the reason the original screen wasn’t glued all the way. If you try hard you can see a slight bent on the frame, but I have the phone for 5 months and didn’t noticed it. So it is not significant. I called them and they said to get the phone back to check it and that maybe this white line is due to a chip they installed, so that the phone recognizes the screen as an original one. They said maybe they will remove the chip and the white line will go away.
What should I do? I’m afraid they pressed the screen too much in order to fit it and they damaged it. Should I ask for a new screen? Or should I ask them to retrofit my old broken screen and give my money back? So that I can go to a different repair shop. If the frame is the cause of everything, they should have told me that. I would never proceed with screen replacement if I knew it may have defects.
Any help is greatly appreciate. I will go to the repair shop later today.
