Has anyone here had their back problems resulting from spinabifia occulta ? My lower spine collapsed in 03, at the age of 31. I seen countless specialist to figure out why ( I stepped out of the shower and went down) one group said my lower spine looked like someone took a bat to a windshield and it shattered. In 05 at an er visit a neurosurgeon saw my films/ reports and said that many people have it and never know it and others it causes problems. I have went through many years of trying everything to get out of pain, had got so that I had home health 5 days a week. Every pain medication prescribed over the years , was told I'd be in a wheelchair and unable to walk much longer. After 15 years of living like that as a single parent, I hated my life it was give up or fight.. I chose to fight and have come along way . I got off the pain meds and pushed myself to gain mobility back over many years.
My problem now is I am having new types of pain above the surgery area. My Dr wants to have new images done other than xrays but we are unsure if I can have one because of my metal hardware . Has anyone had one with hardware or spinal problems from spinabifida occulta?
