My wife kept asking me  “How was the dog’s poop?”

So I built the Ferrari of poop trackers 🤣

My wife and I have a 6-year old Golden and we sleep better knowing he had a great poop.

And we can definitely tell when he’s having tummy issues.

On those days, he lounges around the house or climbs on top of one of us - hoping that pets will somehow make him feel better.

So poop time became a daily check-in to let us know that he is healthy.

And that made me realize something: there are a million health and fitness apps for people - but nothing designed just for our dogs.

So I started building Tails to help me take better care of Yoshi and give him the best, longest life I can.

I think it does an awesome job solving 3 problems we deal with all the time.

First, it automatically tracks only the dog’s activity. I’m super forgetful and now I don’t need to remember to press start every time I leave the house.

My wife and I each have our own account, but both are linked to the same dog. So it does not matter who walks him. We can always see his real activity level.

We even invited our dog walker to always know where Yoshi is.

No more guessing whether he got enough exercise or sniffari time.

Then, we log every poop. I broke it down from “too hard” to “ideal” to “too soft”.

This lets us see the trend and know exactly when things got better - or worse. It’s been super helpful when we need to talk to our vet about tummy issues.

It’s helped us catch diarrhea early and avoid the 2am emergency wake-up calls.

If you have a puppy, you have to try the poop tracker. It makes the chaos way easier to understand.

Finally - my personal fave - are the weather alerts.

I was SO tired of going on a big walk and getting rained on. Now, the app sends me a notification up to an hour before it’s expected to rain.

We’re obsessed with keeping Yoshi as healthy as possible for as long as possible.

And now almost 200 other obsessive dog moms and dads are using Tails to do the same.

There’s one more feature I’m ridiculously excited about:

I want to convert Yoshi’s activity levels into a “real age” estimate - sorta like how Whoop and Oura use your fitness level to estimate your biological age.

The math is tricky - but it’s going to be so cool when I’m done!

If you're a fellow obsessive dog parent, I'd love for you to try Tails and let me know what you think!
