Veterans, can you please explain to us new players how the end of the FPL season usually goes?
I was shocked by the lineups that Crystal Palace and Aston Villa fielded this week. (edit: add NFO to that list). They looked like academy teams. In hindsight it's understandable because they have important European matches this week, but the squads were surprisingly poor and so many owners were on here complaining about them.
It looks like we should target beached teams instead of targeting the weakest teams. Is that consistent with past years?
And what about teams competing for Europe and teams avoiding relegation? Do they really over-perform in the last few games or are they usually consistent until the end?
Counterpoint: Newcastle is beached but they fielded a strong squad and punished Brighton, a team competing for Europe. LOL. We can only play the odds!
What type of rotations should we expect as more teams hit the beach? Is the final week a crazy guessing game of "who's going to play at least 60 minutes?"
Do you recommend we save our FTs for the final week? Or use FTs to target certain teams week-by-week?
What are some of your best strategies for the end of season? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
