Anyone able to explain how duty free shipping works at a port? Mostly tobacco. I’ve bought cigarettes on the ship before and understand there are limits, and I would assume those limits apply to any shopping done off the boat, but do you need to do anything special when getting back on the ship, or do they ask for any receipts or anything?

Big purpose here is I have coworkers who smoke or like zyns, and I’ve noticed prices at ports are cheaper, or they have selections that you can’t typically find in the states.

Has anyone purchased any of that stuff in a port that can speak to the process/risks/fees associated with it? Or do you just simply buy what you want and get on the ship with it with no questions asked?

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Hoping I get get some -recent- info on the Tampa transportation situation. I'm sailing out of TPA and will be returning on May 22, which is a Friday. Wondering what the best option is for transport back to the airport. I have a 12:26 departure time, which I believe should be plenty of room to get to, but wondering about the best pricing. I will be traveling solo, so splitting an Uber or something isn't quite in the picture.

I have done some research, but find very old and outdated answers. I haven't sailed out of TPA for many, many years, so hoping someone who has recently been there can provide some info. I see RC has a shuttle option in the excursions part of the app for 23.99. I'm sure there are taxis and of course Uber, but anyone know what those would run? Last fall I sailed out of Miami and with the surge pricing I wanna say it was like $70 to get to the MIA airport, even though it wasn't that far away. Are there general airport shuttles that are cheap enough (even though I hear shuttles always take forever due to waiting for a full van), or is there generally enough Uber availability where I could find something in a reasonable amount of time for a similar cost as the RC shuttle, or is it better to just book the RC shuttle now and not worry? Any current or recent advice would be appreciated!

Going to Mexico in a couple weeks and I would like to do a dolphin experience (I know, I know- I don't like them in captivity either, but it's one of the things on my bucket list). RC has a few options (and I would like to stick to booking through RC), but I'm trying to figure out the differences and hoping someone has done one or both of these and can offer some input.

Things I want: to touch a dolphin and manatee. Both excursions seem to have this.

Things I don't care about: Whether I am swimming or on a submerged platform or in a pool vs in a blocked off area of the ocean. I just want to be in the water to some capacity.

The included drinks and food and all is a nice touch, but not really a huge selling point for me.

Looking at the two options I've narrowed it down to, does anyone have any insight on either or both? Or any big differences that I'm not picking up on? Both seem to have dolphin and manatee "contact" (to which degree, I have no idea). Both seem to have a sea lion show, buffet, and drinks. Not quite understanding the price difference, or what is different about the "beyond connection" part of the more expensive option.

I also noticed that generally personal photos are not allowed for this type of thing- for anyone who has done this and had to purchase pictures, do you recall a general price point for that? I've heard anywhere from $50-500, as well as people mentioning they have negotiated prices too.

Any info would be appreciated!
