I have a Gravely Pro-40 walk behind mower (Probably from early 90's) that I used for 10 years and it worked like a charm. Stopped using it about 5 years ago and now just don't need it anymore. Looking to sell it but hoping to getting it in good working order. It started right up after putting in fresh gas but it was surging at idle. I figured that part out and while testing and working to correct that I probably started the engine approx 20 times if not more. Never any trouble starting it.

Next day came around and now it wouldn't start at all. I found the fuel was good but not getting any spark. I found online about disconnecting the safety switch and it started right up. As soon as I try connecting the switch again, the engine shuts off. I checked the sensors for the gear selector and PTO and both seem to be fine.

The wiring connector I disconnected leads up to this piece in the photo that is mounted under the fuel tank.

Does anyone know where to look next? I can't find much documentation for this mower (understandable since its 30+ years old).

I’d appreciate any help you can toss my way. Thanks
