Why We Started Building the ConnectsBlue Mock Interview Feature

Mock interviews helped me realize something:

Most people don’t struggle because they “don’t know enough.”
They struggle because they haven’t practiced speaking under real interview pressure.

That’s one of the reasons we started working on the ConnectsBlue Mock Interview feature.

It focuses on:

  • technical interview practice
  • behavioral interview preparation
  • voice-based interview simulation
  • communication improvement
  • structured answer practice

The biggest improvement I noticed from mock interviews wasn’t just better answers — it was confidence.

Curious how many people here actually practice mock interviews before real interviews?

Why We Started Building the ConnectsBlue AI Cover Letter Tool

I honestly didn’t realize how much time people spend struggling with cover letters until I started helping friends apply for jobs.

Most people either:

  • copy random templates from Google
  • use generic AI-generated paragraphs
  • or completely skip cover letters

So we started working on a simpler AI cover letter tool focused on:

  • cleaner personalization
  • role-specific writing
  • ATS-friendly structure
  • faster customization for different applications

The goal wasn’t to generate “fancy corporate language,” but actually help candidates create cover letters that feel relevant and readable.

Curious how many people here still write custom cover letters for every application?

Why do most AI resume builders still create bad resumes?

I’ve been testing a lot of AI resume builders recently while helping people apply for software engineering and tech roles.

One thing became obvious very quickly:
Most tools either generate generic resumes, stuff random keywords everywhere, or create designs that are terrible for ATS systems.

That’s one of the reasons we started building our own resume builder focused on:

  • ATS-friendly formatting
  • recruiter readability
  • stronger impact-focused bullet points
  • technical role optimization
  • faster resume customization for different applications

The goal wasn’t just to “generate resumes with AI,” but actually help candidates improve their chances of getting interviews.

Curious to know:
What’s the biggest problem you’ve faced with resume builders?

I used to think networking meant going to events, talking to tons of people, and constantly “putting yourself out there.”

As an introvert… that sounded exhausting.

But recently I realized networking doesn’t have to be like that.

It can be:

  • 1:1 conversations instead of big groups
  • Online connections instead of events
  • Depth over quantity

Introverts are actually good at this — listening, asking thoughtful questions, building real connections

Also, a lot of opportunities still come through relationships, not just applications

I found this perspective helpful while figuring it out:

Feels like networking isn’t about being loud — it’s about being intentional.

Curious — how do you guys network without burning out?
