Trigger or sleep apnea?

Good morning (here in Australia at least)

TLDR; woke up afib, normally use cpap, took off for hour 5-6am. Woke up in afib, unsure whether caused by spicy food night before or hour off cpap and want opinions.

I need opinions on the events of this morning. I suffer from sleep apnea, I currently use a cpap machine every night. Also have a very short history of afib. First episode was a month ago leading to my SA diagnosis.

This morning, I awoke at 5am and decided to take my mask off as it was uncomfortable and my kids would likely wake soon anyway so I figured I’d just sleep the last hour or so no mask. Well, lo and behold. I have woken up an hour later in afib sitting around 100-120bpm.

All well and good, however, last night I decided I would try something that I haven’t since this all started. I decided I would have some kfc, to be specific, a zinger burger (hot and spicy) and some boneless chicken also zinger.

My question is, should I assume the trigger is the spicy food as that is really the only variable at play? For the last month my diet has consisted of high protein clean foods as I’m attempting to cut weight down. But decided on a cheat. Or is this likely caused by the hour of no cpap?
