14 Lamp Options - Please Help Decide!

14 Lamp Options - Please Help Decide!

Hi! I’m asking the hubs for a quality lamp for Mother’s Day. I’m a hobbyist, but I like nice things and I’m old 👸🏼😝

I do a lot of Gel-X and have been slowly moving to quality products, however, I’m not committed to one brand other than mostly Aprés for the extension process.

I’ve read around the subreddit and know that Kokoist’s Le Blanc is a favorite, among a few others.

Would love some feedback from y’all on any of these lamps.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to A-F.

Would also love some suggestions for good flash cure lamps too!

Thank you so much!

Hi, my name is Bamboo, and I have officially lost control of my nail collection 💅🏼✨

I’m currently in that “I swear this will be the last pot of gel, drill bit, or brush I buy” phase… while actively browsing odd-shaped plastic boxes, cute tins for who-knows-what, and iridescent glass jars because I’ve convinced myself this is all part of the organization process — and obviously I need four different jars for the same exact purpose because this one is prettier.

Current setup:

♡ Storage containers
♡ A couple rolling carts
♡ An unwavering delusion that this storage solution is “temporary”

My office is doing triple duty as a crochet + nail + Peloton zone, which feels very “wellness meets chaos.” I love the idea of a beautifully organized, aesthetic setup… but in reality, I still end up hauling everything into the living room so I don’t become a full cave troll 100% of the time 🧌

Thank goodness for blurred backgrounds in Zoom, because I can safely see patients without anyone realizing they are one camera angle away from witnessing a full-blown nail + yarn hoarding situation 😅

I’ve seen the YouTube nail girlies with their perfectly labeled drawers, swatches in rainbow order, and gels arranged like a Sephora display… meanwhile I’m over here like:
“Where did I put that one perfect syrup pink??”

So I want to hear from real people with real chaos (or impressive control):

👉🏼 What’s your current setup?
👉🏼 Do you organize by brand, color, type, or ✨vibes✨?
👉🏼 Are you a drawer person, cart person, IKEA hacker, or “bins and prayers” system?
👉🏼 What’s something you bought that actually changed your life (organization-wise)?
👉🏼 What’s something you bought that… absolutely did not?
👉🏼 If you could redo your whole setup, what would you do differently?
👉🏼 What desk/table do you use for your workstation — and do you like it?

➡️ And just for fun…because I know we’re all a little unwell here: how many bottles of polish do you own (including gels, builders, bases, tops—anything in a bottle)? If you don’t know, give your best guess 😅 (I counted… 461 🫠)

Bonus points if you:
📸 Share pics
🛑 Talk me out of buying another organizer

I’d love to build an organization system that is:

♡ functional
♡ perfectly organized
♡ aesthetic
♡ somewhat portable

I look forward to reading your answers!

Signed, Bamboo + my 74 containers 💀

Hi! The more I get into doing my nails, the longer I think I want them… until I actually try to function in real life 😅

I’m currently using Aprés long almond tips, and even with the Tippy Type they’re just a tad too long for my day-to-day and slow me down at work. I just finished this set yesterday, so I’d really prefer to modify them to somewhere between medium and long instead of soaking them off and starting over.

I want them shorter but still tapered and elegant -- not chunky or stubby.

I do plan to file off the gel and repolish since I had an event and needed them done in a specific color, so I’d like to change that anyway.

My main questions:

  • Do you prefer a hand file or e-file for shortening Gel-X tips?
  • What’s the best way to maintain a clean almond shape after removing length?
  • How do you avoid that thick/blunt look at the free edge after cutting?
  • Do you usually re-balance the apex after shortening, or just refine and top coat?

Would love to hear how you all approach this 🫶🏻
