I don’t share my story often, but today feels like the right moment.

I grew up in a home marked by multiple forms of abuse, and for many years, I carried the weight of trauma that no child should ever have to navigate. As an adult, I lost my husband in a motorcycle accident, survived a life‑threatening medical crisis that resulted in a pacemaker, and found myself in relationships that deepened my pain instead of healing it. At one point, I was pushed into self‑harm and even stepped away from my education twice. But I kept getting back up.
This year, I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Child & Adolescent Development. I moved back to Washington State after more than 20 years in the South 3 years ago. I rebuilt my life, my stability, and my sense of self. And today, I’m in a healthy, supportive relationship with someone who celebrates my growth, including taking me on an 8‑day cruise this August to the Bahamas to honor this new chapter. I share this because healing is not linear, and resilience is not about being untouched by hardship. It’s about choosing, again and again, to move forward.

‼️If you’re in a difficult season, please know this: your story isn’t over. You can rise, rebuild, and reclaim your future, just like I did. Don't let the past define who you are meant to be.‼️
