I've been a fan of the IW since my ex got me into Warhammer 2 years ago, and I have made different chaos armies. One reason why I never started an IW army before now, was I felt scared to paint hazard stripes. For anyone feeling the same way, I have some tips
- Two main ways, I found, to paint yellow Hazard lines are:
- Prime the area with White scars white (Base), cover with Imperial fist (contrast). To make the yellow lines darker, and flow easier into the black lines . Agrax earthshade (Shade)
Note: be careful your white scars white doesn't become too thick, as it can make the yellow lines look clumpy
- Prime the area with Averland Sunset (Base), cover with Imperial fist (contrast), and once more Agrax earthshade (Shade) for the natural yellow smoothness
Note: Averland Sunset is really thin, so beware to base it multiple times over. Another note is the Averland Sunset yellow might stick to crevices, such as the Lascannon Havocs right shoulder
- Remember to always prime the hazard stripes with yellow, and then paint the black lines over. The reason for this, is the black is easier to control. The yellows are usually thinner, and rarely go where you want it to go
- Plastic tape vs freehand is a big debate. I found the best way for me is when painting bigger models such as a Maulerfiend, Heldrake, etc. Plastic tape make for great support. When painting smaller minis, the best way for me was freehand

- If anyone has any constructive criticism, or ways to improve. Feel free to share, brutal honesty over cruel compassion
