I feel like it muddies the identity of unranked; that being the idea of a blank, standard game mode with no funny business.
I'm not saying bans are bad, they bring a whole new dynamic, playstyle, and opportunities for strategy, but they feel designed for ranked. Outside of that, people don't have the same level of investment or team coordination, so bans just become kind of mindless. On top of that, they slow down the already long boot-up-to-playing time, which again, is actually nice in the context of ranked, but feels stilted outside of it.
(Before some of y'all say "then play quickplay", no. I want to be able to have time to pick my operators, set up site, discourage leaving, and have a meaningfully lengthy game while also being able to play an operator more than once per game. Is that too much to ask?)
TLDR; It feels like bans don't bring enough to the unranked game mode to warrant the cost. What do you think?
