DEAR DIASPORA

Please you guys should really be mindful of who you hang out with and some establishments you frequent when visiting Ghana. Accra's nightlife scene is filled with Pedophiles and rapists.

When going on holiday, I'm sure you guys research into detail about what goes on in a certain country. The same should be applied to Ghana(I know Ghana is home so you don't really think much about but, I think you guys should be interested in local news now.) You'll see how horrible the country you romanticise on "Independence day", Easter and Detty December really is.

I see you guys hang out with weirdos all the time, some people are told and then decide to still hang out with them because...I know some of you are not aware and that's why keeping up with the news is important. 36 year old Joshua Kojo Anane Boate or "SoAfrican" has been arrested for drugging, raping and distributing secretly filmed videos with his victims. He's friends with other weirdos like Dezzydothis, a sexual assualter who is still roaming the streets of Accra. Becareful, especially to the women, please! Stay informed and be vigilant! It'll also be nice if you guys can boycott some establishments like Afro-future, Frontback etc. There are so many shady businesses in Accra that you patronise, seeing those businesses thrive is like a slap in the face especially the ones established with our taxes.

My heart really goes out to the victims, trying to unwind in Accra after hardwork, only for some rapist to take advantage. His investigation has led to other revelations where Ghanaian men and a woman, take pictures of children around the age of 5 and 6 years old and they send to a Pedo syndicate in Australia. So horrible and heartbreaking.

You guys are targets, so you have to be as informed as possible. This is coming from a place of concern. I know back home, Racism exists and you guys go through so much and you come back to Ghana to unwind but please!

Ghana's Funeral Culture

Some of our traditions are so...

Why can't we just grieve with the bereaved, why are strings attached? Why can't we just say our condolences and leave? Why must we put so much pressure on them to serve us and provide us with entertainment. Even when grieving families provide all these things, you still hear people gossip about them that they aren't doing enough.

I know we give Nsawa bodeɛ(funeral donations) but does that mean that we should be entitled to them for hosting? Why can't we sympathise with them and go? I get that people travel from far distances and have to find accommodation etc but still, it's so sad watching families suppressing their tears just to host.

As soon as its January, all you see from the Ghanaian Diaspora is how fun "Independence Day" will be and how much "Ghana is a movie" from their Detty December vlogs. When it comes to national issues, most of them are quiet. Especially when it comes to Galamsey, they never use their social media accounts to bring awareness to the fact that we are being poisoned in Ghana. Always making tone deaf posts and they claim they never see what is going on but they know every tiktok trend and are mutuals with a lot of locals on twitter, even when they come and they leave the vicinity of Labone and Cantonments, they see how horrible things are.

To the Diaspora, if you love your country so much that you go all out for "Independence Day", why do you always pretend that you've not seen or heard about the devastating effects of Galamsey(Illegal Mining)? Meanwhile too some of your uncles and aunties live in those heavily polluted towns and you visit them yearly. All the food you ate in Ghana have traces of Lead, Cynide and Mercury, you drank and bathed with Galamseyfied water. All those hauls you're doing on Tiktok about the things you brought from Ghana(your plantain chips, fish, kenkey, chocolate, spices etc) have carcinogens in them. So if you think, "I'm far away, my family and I are good so I don't care." think again lol. Your tone deafness and your deliberate silence will not save you. But yeah, "Ghana is movie and we party till the Sun comes out."👍🏾#StopGalamseyNow

This post is a bit Tmi but since I was little, I've lived far away from school. Had ro wake up around 4 to 4:30 am for school and was still late because all the math classes were in the morning. I lacked the basic foundation of math and i never really caught up because i had a lot of responsibilities. I used to get beaten because of that and after school, my father wasn't chipping in so my mum was doing everything, so sometimes we had a driver to pick us after school or we had to wait till like 9pm to be picked up from school so I couldn't practice.

Already scared of my math teacher and reliving him beating me, my self esteem was low, always scared to participate. Every math teacher I had was a bully to me, even on days when I did well in math I was accused of cheating. Long story short, how do I start over. I want to be so good at math for myself, what can help me achieve this. I need all the resources that will help me with a very weak math foundation. Thank you!

Tina is very responsible when it comes to her baby sitting business and cleaning the restaurant but for school, not so much. However, in the last episode, she made sure to get her grades up(eventhough it was Jimmy Jr's butt motivated), I'm glad. The fact that she was struggling in typing class but then found her own way and became the best at it, despite everything was very nice to watch.

Tomorrow is a holiday, and for us, it's also termed as beach day. Can you please share with me any beach that you enjoyed going to? A beach where you don't pay for parking, or pay a ridiculous gate fee, pay to use the bathroom and pay to play in the sand?

They are really trying so hard to make beaches in Greater-Accra inaccessible for the locals thus appealing to foreigners. I honestly can't believe these fuckers are trying to gatekeep nature. Meanwhile, locals make the atmosphere lively smh.
