My wife and I were sitting in our garden yesterday, and this lovely bird landed beside us looking tired. We fed it, gave it water, picked it up and phoned the number on his tag, and a really pleasant chap came this afternoon to pick him up. He was a bit off-course from his first race of the season and exhausted. I have now been furiously Googling, and fascinated by the hobby. The owner cared deeply about his birds, and was a mine of information. What a great experience.
