So, as most people know we can experience midnight sun north of a certain latitude and south of a certain latitude, whereas the sun can be seen on the sky for a full rotation. On the horizontal hemisphere the sun will go clockwise, but on the southern hemisphere it will go counter-clockwise, again for a full rotation. Assuming a flat earth with either a local or non-local sun, how can this phenomenon be explained, especially so for midnight sun on the southern hemisphere which on the flat earth model would lie somewhere on the periphery of the earth?
