Genuine question. Why were Eris and Keir ever kept alive. It’s been a while since I’ve read the books but that just never made any sense to me. They despised both of them and all they did was cause more trouble.

Why were they not killed instantly??? And why did none of them even contemplate it??? It does not fit their personalities and stories at all
