Unsure of specific Camponotus species
Caught last summer in North-West Ontario
The queen is about 15mm from mandibles to end
Her first nanitics only had a slight brown/maroon tint to their bodies, her new minors and now majors(?) have a much lighter tan coloration to their bodies.
The majors are about 30%-40% larger than the minors and have a somewhat rounder head, but I'm finding that across different individuals shape and size has some variation.
I'm leaning towards herculeanus or possibly novaeboracensis, but I won't be surprised if I'm way off base with those!
I can try and take more specific pictures or measurements if it would help get a confident species ID!
