I acquired an old Ford Series J disc for a good price, but she's in need of repair. The bearings are the old clam shells and it's in need of 2 axels and possibly a third.

What's everyone's thoughts on either sourcing original type replacement pieces, or retro fitting some kind of sealed bearing operation.....it has the round axels, and all the discs, spacers and bearings are there, so changing over to a square axel probably wouldn't be cost efficient once I bought new discs

Hello - new to fruit trees here, and looking for a little advice for our new cherry tree.

The tree is a bare root, standard stella cherry tree. It's about 7ft tall . We are in zone 6. Bordering zone 5.

My question is should I prune off the branch Inext to the red line in the picture? It seems pretty low compared to the other branches coming off the main stem no?, but it's also fairly thick relative to the rest of the tree, so I'm worried about opening up a wound on it right after it was planted.

It has been chilly here, but I think I might be running out of time for any pruning before they really wake up.

(I have 4 peaches that I'm going to have to prune too, but I'll start another post for them if needed!)
