Hello everyone,
I'm trying to solve a very strange (to me) issue with my Optiplex: the system will not display the Dell splash screen or BIOS via iGPU, but once loaded into Windows, the iGPU works mostly as expected. BIOS and Windows can be displayed via discrete GPU.
The Intel processor testing utility shows the iGPU as functional and it passes the test, however hwInfo shows the iGPU, but indicates it as disabled (even when no discrete GPU is installed and the iGPU is actively displaying out). Task manager shows the iGPU but not the NVS 310, even when displaying out of the 310. I don't know if it would've shown the 1050ti because once I got to Windows the system failed (I think a driver conflict with the NVS 310).
I can boot the system without a discrete GPU installed, and the screen stays black (no Dell logo, hangs if I spam F2 to enter BIOS) until windows loads, at which point I do get a display out of the iGPU. The only way I've been able to enter BIOS is by installing a discrete GPU and displaying out of that. It can also load into Windows with a discrete GPU, at which point I am able to display out of both Integrated and discrete graphics.
No power LED error codes at any time.
Things I have tried:
-Adjusted BIOS settings: enable/disable multi-display, selected auto, iGPU, and discrete GPU as default display, restored factory default settings
-Different RAM slots
-Different discrete GPU/ no discrete GPU
-Switching to iGPU once into BIOS (screen stays black after switch, and will no longer display BIOS even if I switch back to discrete GPU)
-Reflash BIOS
-Clear CMOS
-Boot with no drive installed (able to get into BIOS if using discrete GPU, if using integrated, screen stays black and power led stays solid white)
-Removed/reinstalled discrete GPU drivers in Windows (though I don't think this would affect displaying BIOS)
-Powered system on when no RAM, GPU, or drive was installed (hoping to maybe re-initialize some hardware detection issue??)
-Connected to two displays simultaneously, one via discrete one via integrated (still only shows BIOS on discrete, even when integrated set as default)
At a loss with this one, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
