Most overrated subclass?

What would you consider to be the most overrated subclass? I'm going to put mine out:

Hexblade Warlock. Don't get me wrong, this subclass is amazing. But besides getting good level 1 spells, Hexblade's Curse, and Medium Armor and Shield proficiency, that's pretty much it. The rest of the features I feel fall short of some of the other Warlock subclasses like Fiend, Genie, Undead, and Fathomless. It's very good as a dip, but it feels kinda overrated if you're putting more than two levels in warlock.

Update: No I don't think Hexblade Warlock is bad as a dip. It's one of the best armor dip options out there. It just falls off when it comes to features outside of the first few.

Level 12 PvP (Party versus Party) Build

Let's say a level 12 party goes against another level 12 party, and let's assume that both have four members. What builds or multiple character synergies stand out to you? Here's a list of observations I made:

  • Anything attack roll based is doomed to be bad as long as everyone gets medium armor, shields, and the shield spell, as well as the fact that this is high enough level that broken spells are already being available. So martials are really screwed over.
  • Most monsters tend to be stronger in melee than at range, but for player characters ranged and melee damage tend to be similar, so movement control spells are weaker.
  • Starting position matters a lot for AOE spells, let's just assume that it could either be clumped together or spread out.
  • This is assuming that both parties get to rest cast spells the night before, so simply adding the Aid spell to a single member's spell list for example is a massive buff.
  • Don't assume any crazy stage gimmicks. Maybe some cover, but don't make a "if we happen to be 200000 feet in the air" sort of build.

I don't have any specific builds, but I have noted that Sorcerer being able to cast un-Counterspell-able spells is pretty noteworthy and Magic Missile is one of the most effective ways to ensure that full damage happens, the only counter being Shield.

For those competing in the FIRST Championship, what would you say are the biggest improvements to either your robot, code, or strategy that you made in order to preform better at worlds?

I would say our team's biggest changes are the addition of good passing (we mainly herded before) and a full double dip auto. I'd like to hear what everyone else going to worlds has done since their last competition!
