Does anyone else remember a longer version of the “bowl of soup” hat scene in Caddyshack?

I’ve been trying to find this for years. In the version everyone sees now, Rodney says:

“You oughta get a bowl of soup with that hat.”

then:

“Oh, but it looks good on you though.”

and it cuts pretty quickly to Judge Smails taking the hat off and walking away.

But I swear I saw a version years ago where there was more dialogue/reaction between those moments. I specifically remember the scene running longer and being even funnier.

I don’t know if it was:

• an old TV broadcast version
• VHS/cable edit
• deleted/alternate take
• or some extended cut

Does anyone else remember this too?
