We are four fairly novice bikepackers (all women) looking for an adventure and exploring the Ruta El Dorado. Anyone have experience with this one and words of wisdom to share? Weather in July and/or altitude a concern? One of us has to take it easy with an injury and we are a little nervous about the big climbs being an issue. Looking at booking sites there seem to be a good number of places to stay, but it’s hard to know what’s most convenient to the trail. And bike rentals… curious if there are recommendations besides 14 Ochomiles as listed on bikepacking.com. That’s a lot but any help is appreciated. TIA!
