I'm really confused about something. I really thought the whole point of this game was that we are expendable soldiers in an authoritarian empire? I really thought the whole point was to sort of be this "we're baddies satire" where we are meant to be hucked into a meat grinder.
Really to kinda explain my POV the tutorial is really what seals the deal for me. Get killed a bunch and the announcer will make quips. It kinda cemented the vibe to me that we would die a ton
I'm really confused where people got the conception that this was gonna be more akin to halo I guess? That seems to be what alot of people want is sort of a more halo ODST like experience where they still sort of are a heroic character. (Which idk maybe the halo warbond drew some folks in like that which is understandable) But some of the content creators who have been in the community forever talk about grunt fantasy even so it can't just be that warbond.
I'm just really not sure why people think this I guess and I really mostly want to hear from people who feel this way. I am wondering if maybe I came across different ads or what?
Ps. Please for those who agree with me, don't be jerks to the people trying to explain their side. I prompted this in an attempt to understand where a chunk of the community is coming from, not tell them they are having bad/wrong fun.
