I’ve had my pixel 4a 4g without any problems (besides the battery update) for four years (now on android 13). This problem started to occur about half a year ago, more than five times this year alone. The speaker and microphone just randomly stop working but after a restart everything works fine again. Listening to music with headphones (wired and bluetooth) still works in this state, using the external microphone of my earbuds for calls sometimes works.

This problem causes issues for example the alarm doesn’t ring properly and when somebody calls me I can’t hear what the other person is saying and vice versa.

Does anyone now how to fix this?

I’ve had this phone (4g model on Android 13) without any problems (besides the battery update) for four years. This bug started to occur about half a year ago, more than five times this year alone. The speaker and microphone just randomly stop working but after a restart everything works fine again. Sometimes I can still call someone with wireless earbuds, but i can still listen to music with headphones. I often don’t notice it soon enough so I can’t respond when somebody calls me (I can’t hear what the other person is saying and vice versa) and the alarm doesn’t ring properly (thankfully vibrations still work which also produce some noise). Has anyone encountered this problem as well?
