Urologist told me 2 years ago that the only people who get varicocele surgery are children that havent hit puberty or adults with poor semen parameters having trouble conceiving a child ,I am 18 now and I’m afraid that if I dont get surgery now my testes might not be able to have catchup growth even if I get surgery later in life and its all downhill from here ,do I really need to get surgery if my testicles arent too small?

About 3 years ago I felt a sudden pain in my testicles whilst playing jiu jitsu ,may or may not have caused the varicocele but the pain lasted for about a day or two and my testicles felt almost hot (not warm) to the touch
fast forward a year I check up with a urologist who gets me an ultrasound done ,I get diagnosed with bilateral scrotal varicocele grade II on both sides ,my testicles both being 13.5ml (left) and 14.5ml (right) ,I was 16 when I had the ultrasound done
a few months later I had a semen analysis done (which was fine but at that age it was expected even with varicocele) a while later I started having symptoms of low T ,felt more tired and low libido ,and also had symptoms of pfd which I fixed with breathing exercises ,this took place when I was 17,libido was back for the most part. From then its been off and on ,
but now at 18 Ive noticed by testicles shrinking alot ,probably smaller than they were at 16 even though I havent had an ultrasound done but it seems so, recently I had symptoms of zinc deficiency aswell so I started consuming foods higher in zinc and that seemed to alleviate deficiency symptoms and that mightve worked (my libido seemed to increase and my testicles all of a sudden felt “fuller” even if they werent bigger)
Ive not had pain with varicocele except for a few times and even then its accompanied with pain around my abs ,abdomen or stomach especially in the left sight
Anyhow testicles still seem smaller and Im scared that varicocele mightve effected me for life.
If any of you have any advice or help please help me out.
