hi guys, im an M26 IB student in east asia trying to apply to usyd's vet course after graduating high school. i plan to apply after getting my IB results in early july, but i am super anxious about applying due to the following concerns:

- my job shadowing opportunity starts in late september, but i saw that the school reviews and ranks applications in four rounds. i am aware that the commitment form is due later so technically i can apply with my grades first in the second round (30th august), but i would still want to provide a complete portfolio (which includes my work experience) so my application can be reviewed earlier. i am paranoid that if i submit my commitment form too late, there won't be any available places for me anymore

- to work around this, i thought maybe it would be better to just fill in the commitment form based on the work experience i can get with volunteering only, and since i can cram a bunch of volunteer work during may to august, i can submit my grades and commitment form for the round in late august. however, would that weaken my work experience because i didn't shadow a vet in a clinical setting? would the school even care about that or do they just check whether you have ticked enough boxes in the commitment form?

- i live in a very urbanised city, so access to working with production animals is extremely low, especially as a highschooler. the commitment form asks whether u have experience in production animals (which takes up 80% of the form) and dogs and cats (20% of the form), i fear i can only do so much with dogs and cats...

i still want to apply, im just rather nervous because i got rejected/waitlisted by a handful of UK unis because of my lack of work experience, so im trying to make up for that and avoid making the same mistakes...does anyone have any advice or firsthand experience applying to usyd?
