I'm a secondary teacher.
I found out the other day that a Y13 student(s) has complained about me to my head of department making false accusations.
These students are have an attendance of 45% to lessons. And have been getting Us every exam.
I found out on the day (Thurs) that the students written a statement as well find out who they were too from students. Which made my head of department perform a full investigation on each student of the class, one by one.
Few days later bring today...a student who is friends with that student, had written a statement for me on what that student who reported it had said...
"I swear on god I reported the teacher, he can't do anything as he doesn't know it was me." Then added "I'm doing it for the love of the game."
The friend asked the student why did you do it. The student who reported it said "I just don't like him and I just don't care about him. I'm not bothered by him, but I wrote so much on the yellow paper in a way where it seemed bad but that's it."
I haven't told anyone at my school, as I have a feeling my head of department wants me gone. And the student that wrote the statement has asked me not mention his name as he is worried about the student find out and may harm him as they live local. But the statement I have got from has name and signature and date.
Additionally the students who was interviewed by the head of department told me that one to one confrontation made them feel uncomfortable.
No one knows that I know what is going on...I have had the time to let my union know as I have prepping my students for exams.
The timing seems perfect for them since the student who reported is going to be on student leave for their a level exams
What should I do.
Is there any legal action, as this report causing me strain on my work and family?
