UPDATE (never getting my lps back)
hiii idk if this is the right place to put this but i wanna get it OFF MY CHEST to people who will understand, bc im so heart broken i have no words for it.
i (23f) live across the country from my little sister (18f) and we r logged into the same email and i noticed that she got a venmo notif saying “lps- 170” she doesn’t own LPS, only me and all mine are at my family home. so my heart drops, she knows i still care about them, and i would never EVER sell them (in fact, 2 days prior i was telling her i wanted to go through them when i visit bc i am very fixated on them rn) so she KNEW
i panic text her and she says she’s sorry but she can’t get them back bc the girl has a “weird bank account”. i won’t give explain the millions of twists and turns this story went because my sister lied a dozen times so i will only explain the truth that finally came out.
my sister stole my other sisters (20f) LPS 675 (savannah) and messaged some girl she was trying to be friends with (22f) and offered to sell it to her and give her some extras for a total of $125 plus hang out with her. the girl came over, got the LPS 675 and then saw all of my collection (which is like 40-50 pets total, most all are gen 1). and asked to buy them, my sister agreed and sold them to her for ONLY FORTY FIVE DOLLARS!!!! (there’s some of my pets pictured but there’s many that are not)
so i try reaching out to the girl and very politely ask for them back and i offer to send her money back, (she originally said she couldn’t to my sister because she shipped them out) so i offered to pay for a shipping label and materials. when i found out my sister sold her the LPS 675, i decided, MAYBE if i offer the LPS 675, and give her the money back PLUS more she will give me my collection back.
i don’t care about the worth of the pets at all, i just want my childhood toys back and im so devastated, i’m across the country and there’s nothing i can do about it. i understand from the buyers perspective that she thinks she fairly bought something but, in reality she did buy stolen goods that have a value over a certain amount in the state they are in. so i could file a report but i really don’t want to because it’s a big hassle and i don’t want her in legal trouble over this to get them back.
i’m just sad and my hearts broken because i’ve lost trust in my sister and i fear i will never get my LPS back, im super depressed about this and i know that’s embarrassing bc im 23 but i’m also an autistic woman and these mean a lot more to me than the average person.

sooo my mom called the non emergency and talked to a really cool officer who offered to reach out to the girls dad if he never responded just to kind of bother the dad into making his daughter respond to us/making him understand that we are serious. the officer said there’s not much we can do since it’s civil matter and to press charges would be a LOT of money out of our pockets. her dad did not reply so my mom asked the officer to reach out to the dad, and the officerrrrr did not reply …
but after hearing that there’s not much they or i can do legally was very discouraging. and i saw she posted on her story that she’s going to an LPS swap thing at the end of this month so that means my LPS are going to be traded and i literally cannot do anything about it :(. the soonest im in the area is the middle of june and that’s way too late for anything and there’s no way i’m getting them back from her my talking to her or discussing anything. she says it’s a “family dispute” and she’s sorry shes in the middle of it but it’s not her problem. idk idk im very sad and i think right now im just going to slowly build my collection from the ground up, but the struggle there is the fact that i don’t spend money on non-adult things very often so this will be on a back burner unless i find a good deal lol. but thank you all for caring!!! i really appreciate you all!! i wish so very badly this girl was more understanding.
also to provide more context that i didn’t have until recently, i guess when my sister had the girl over, my sister had told her no multiple times to getting my bin of pets out of storage. and the girl kept pushing, so eventually my sister agreed and they went to look for it, and the girl began to sort the pets into piles and asked my sister to get two gallon size bags. and when my sister came back, she started to fill them, and my sister said “how can we play with them if ur putting them in bags?” and the girl said “oh i’m leaving, i have to go now, you’re selling everything to me right? is $170 cool?” and pretty much just venmoed her and while she was STILL in the house my sister asked for them back because i texted and called her when i saw the venmo notif, the girl said no and left. so my sister was still in the wrong for stealing and selling my other sister savanah and she 1000% could have prevented this from happening by not letting a STRANGER into the house, but the girl lied to my sister multiple times about her intentions and manipulated the situation to her liking.
