Time to part ways with my 13 mini :(

After a long time I am sadly parting ways with my mini, it still works perfect, and I love it, but my vision is deteriorating, so the small screen size isn't working for me anymore and causing significant strain. If anyone is interested in adopting my much loved 13 mini feel free to DM and I can send photos and we can work out a reasonable price. it's 128 gb 84% battery and midnight. no scratches etc. I also have a MagSafe wallet and case that come with it. much love to you all!

I recently had a binocular vision evaluation and was diagnosed with:

  • 4Δ esophoria at distance and near
  • significantly reduced divergence ranges/BI reserves
  • accommodative infacility
  • pursuit tracking deficits
  • binocular vision dysfunction with diplopia findings on Worth Dot testing

My eye health exam itself was normal.

My main symptoms before treatment were:

  • migraines/headaches
  • derealization/disconnected visual feeling
  • difficulty focusing on distant objects like leaves on trees, things are "sharp" but I cant actually "lock in" the image
  • seeing double red lights/signals far away during both day and night driving
  • difficulty “locking focus” on anything more than a few yards away
  • eye strain/irritability

I was prescribed:

Distance/general glasses:
OD: Plano -0.25 x090 with 1.50 BO prism
OS: Plano -0.25 x020 with 1.50 BO prism

Near glasses:
OD: +0.75 -0.25 x090
OS: +0.75 -0.25 x020

The doctor strongly emphasized vision therapy (I’m currently doing computer VT) and told me to wear the prism glasses “as much as needed,” but I don’t have a follow-up for 3 months.

After 5 days, the prism glasses don’t feel like the “instant relief” stories I’ve read online. My brain feels slightly calmer/less strained and near/intermediate vision sometimes feels more 3D, but distance vision feels dimmer, softer/less sharp, and still hard to focus. I still feel derealization visually.

Without the glasses, distance is still difficult to focus but looks sharper/crisper. With the glasses, things feel less crisp and more visually distorted.

Questions:

  1. Does this sound like normal prism adaptation for someone with these findings?
  2. Is BO prism for esophoria common in cases with poor divergence ranges?
  3. Does this sound more like a therapy-oriented prescription vs a comfort-oriented prescription?
  4. Would it make more sense to follow up with my current very VT-focused doctor, or seek a second opinion at an office that also offers Neurolens/another binocular vision evaluation approach?
