$10 bucks says Trump won’t pardon many of those around him — thoughts?
I’ve been thinking about the reporting that Trump plans to pardon everyone in his orbit. But Trump is a selfish narcissistic ego maniac who at the end of his term in 2028 may be even more unpopular and humiliated than he is now. The 2028 election will be on the horizon and those planning to run will need to distance themselves at least partially from Trump. Doesn’t it seem incredibly likely that Trump will make those around him grovel and humiliate themselves for a pardon? And doesn’t it seem highly likely he’ll withhold pardoning at lease some of those around him or use it as leverage? And what happens to those Republicans who dare to even gently criticize his actions?
Many of those around him have openly committed crimes — they’ll be desperate for a pardon. But if Trump is hated, and dealing with a bruised ego, he may spitefully try and take those down around him as well. How will that impact the 2028 race and Trumps next attempt to steal the election?
