Figured here might be as good a place as any to look for some feedback.
I’m from the CT shoreline and a small group of colleagues and I (8-12 guys) try to make a short 2/3 day golf trip once a year. Lately we’ve been doing the casino area here for ease of who may or may not want to spend the night and to make logistics for those with families easier.
This year I’m thinking of changing it up a little and taking the trip to Rhode Island. The only course I’ve played in RI is Newport National, which I feel like should be included because I found it to be a nice course, albeit, on the pricier side for the more casual golfers in the group.
That’s why I’m here... do any locals or anyone with knowledge of the golf scene there have any recommendations? Only other course I’ve heard much about is Meadow Brook GC.
Any input on courses, great towns for AirBnB and the such would be appreciated. Thanks!
*If it matters, the skill level varies from probably a 9/10 handicap to guys who just play for fun, likely 30+. Just a way to get out of town for a night or two with the friends and have a nice time.
