I just got this new carpet put in, but I noticed there’s quite a bit of "give" when I pull it up at the doorway.

And whenever I step on it, the carpet bunches up and creates a noticeable bulge/bubble right next to my foot (as seen in the photo). It feels like the carpet isn't tensioned properly or the underlay is uneven. Is this a common "settling" issue, or did the installers fail to stretch it correctly?

Update: Thanks! Now I am sure the installers failled their job completely.

Actually we discovered that around 10 carpet edges were loose on the stairs and request the company to be back already. Now I confirm they not only need to work on stairs but the whole floor.

The company? Tapi in St Albans. Such a shame.
