Hey all i spent the better part of a day messing with different iso files(live vs. legacy) using different thumb drives/sd cards using balenaeatcher/rufus/rufus dd/fedora media to flash the iso. Different usb ports. But nothings working.

Trying to install on a pc i just built with asus rog motherboard/ryzen 9800x3d/ 9070xt. It has an nvme ssd with windows on it and i'm trying to separately install bazzite on an ssd over usb.

I've got fast boot and secure boot off on the bios.

When i boot into the live version i double click the install to hard drive and it flashes a login prompt then quickly goes away and nothing happens. When i double click again i get an anaconda error it says its already running.

When i boot into legacy it lets me attempt the install on the usb ssd, but 20 minutes in I get a fatal error, must abort installation failed to install flatpaks error

What the heck is this about, how do i get thing darn os installed?

I chose the newest amd/kde and boot to steam os game mode

Hey all forever console gamer converted by a steam deck to a potential pc gamer(but still use a controller)

Did a bunch of research with how much power I could squeeze into the smallest box. I wanted some flexibility down the road to upgrade gpu and I think the fractal terra gives me that for the size, but maybe you guys think theres a better option. Here's the parts list, then the newb questions if anyone could save me the trouble of research/trial and error.

Parts:
Ryzen 9800x3d
Asus 9070 xt prime
Rog b850i
Gskill flare x5 2x16gb 6000 cl30
Wd sn850x 4tb
Corsair sf850
Axp90 x53 cpu fan
Artic slim 120mm fan

Ok newb Qs -

1.Whats the best/ most dumbed down free thermal software for cpu/gpu temps?

1b. I understand that most people with sff will undervolt because the reduction you get in temps is significant compared to the decrease in performance, any recs for what to undervolt to/youtube tutorials?

  1. How did I do as far as build? Any cases/other cooling options you'd recommend I swap for acceptable cooling/size compromise that still lets me upgrade the gpu in the future?

  2. Ive got windows 11 on it and intended to run bazzite on this to use as a steam machine that would sit in my office, but could wirelessly play/power on with a remote from my living room(mostly single player story stuff so dont need absolute instant response time)

I'm having trouble installing bazzite, when i load the installer there is an option to "install to hard drive" but it does nothing/or gives me an error. It doesnt offer to partition my main ssd and create a dual boot. I've also tried installing it to a spare ssd attached through usb. I've flashed it with belena etcher which got stuck in grub. Then flashed with rufus dd mode and thats the one that boots but wont install now. Anyone run into this and have a solution?

3b. Does anyone know of the best solution to power up the pc from my living room with a ps5 or other controller if i need one and play games wirelessly on my lg oled in my living room?

  1. My ram says 6000 on it but pc and bios are showing 4800 mhz. I've read that if i enable expo in bios i should see 6000. Is that something I should do? Is the speed of my ram 6000mhz or is that a marketing gimmick and it needs to be overclocked to reach those speeds? Thanks and sorry for all the long questions

So the Xikii ff04 is my favorite case right now, but i'm not dropping $700 on a case. I actually spent more than i planned.

Ive got an asus 9070 xt prime oc and i like the look of it. I'd like to find a 10L or less case that has some kind of gpu window. Ive got the sf850 and b850i now i just need a case and fans to pair it with. I like the size of the shiny snake l300, but it doesnt accomplish the gpu showcase once the covers on. Thanks
