We are looking to redeem some of our points (JetBlue or Chase) to fly from Boston (BOS) to Paris (CDG). Here are 2 options I have found and I am seeking any advice or feedback on - how do you all assess if this is good value or not? We have never booked travel by transferring points to a travel partner - only have ever booked travel directly in the portal, and recently found out that the transfer is usually better savings. Any feedback appreciated:
Balances: 95,000 JetBlue Points; 200,000 Chase Points
- Option 1 - Transfer Chase Points to Air France (Flying Blue), which is currently offering a 20% Bonus:
Depart: AF 331 BOS to CDG September 16th
Return: DL 225 CDG to BOS September 23rd
2 Economy Tickets
101,000 Miles + 518 EUR = Transfer 85,000 Chase Points and Pay approx $600
- Option 2 Use JetBlue Points - this one doesn't make sense to me, but wanted to list it as an option since we do have those JetBlue points:
Depart: JetBlue B6 33 BOS to CDG September 16th
Return: JetBlue B6 34 CDG to BOS September 23rd
2 Economy Tickets
95,400 pts + $1,249.86
To buy the tickets in cash would be about $720 each = $1,440 so we would rather do that then Option 2
Am I doing this right? Anything else you all would recommend checking out before proceeding? Thanks!
