Hey y’all. I’ve been texting with a recruiter about enlisting. He had me fill out a questionnaire involving criminal and medical background. He says that since I have an active prescription for Prilosec, I cannot enlist until the prescription has been expired for at least 2 years. He maintained this position even though I only took 12 of the first fill on the prescription, haven’t taken it in around a year, and haven’t had any heartburn since I stopped taking them and changed my diet.
Is this truly disqualifying? I thought I’d at least have the opportunity to go to MEPS with my medical records. And aren’t there waivers, even if you do have a disqualifying condition? I really don’t want to have to wait 2+ years just because I tried heartburn medicine.
